Leading by Example
Being a strong leader is important to me in both my professional career and personal life. Everyone has been on a team with weak leadership – It has an affect on every aspect of the group and directly impacts their ability to perform. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to management, I’ve had great success building teams and leading them by example. When you empower your team and they respect you, they will work hard for you.
Department Head
As the leader of the Corporate Communications Department at CommuteAir, I was also the primary marketing contact for the organization. My approach was simple: get to know my team on a personal level, build relationships with them that extended beyond our work objectives, provide them the freedom to complete their work without micromanaging their priorities and empower them to take ownership within the team.
DEI Leadership Council
As a proud ally and people-first leader, it was an honor and a dream of mine to play a key role in creating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion within an organization. At CommuteAir, I leveraged the opportunity to be a founding member of the DEI Leadership Council and played a key role in developing the mission, vision, coordination and execution of the activities of the group – Including volunteering opportunities, social observances, messaging and content creation.
Internship Development
As an experienced professional and leader, I have helped create multiple internship development programs during my career. Writing job descriptions, holding interviews, delegating responsibilities, hosting meetings and providing mentorship to young professionals is something I’m passionate about and enjoy doing!
